Yeah, Summer Fridays are here again. What are you doing on your Friday off? My blog gets written before Friday so then I can do something fun.
Interesting: When researching for this post, most of the links I found were about beauty products for lip balms, jetlag, skincare and hybrid makeup.
Not sure what hybrid makeup is: (I learn something new each time I research a topic!)

And yes, beauty products are important especially for the summer sun to be protected. And we know that the beauty industry is a 500$bio industry – including 💄 lipstick!
But what about chilling, relaxing, doing nothing, being outdoors? Could that be a summer Friday activity?
❌ No: catching up on my emails
❌ No: listening to recordings of meetings this week
❌ NO: adding more items on the to-do list!
✅ YES: meeting up with a friend
✅ YES: being outdoors
✅ YES: reading a book (follow the blog next week for summer reading recommendations)
✅ YES: it’s for your own well-being, self-care, and happiness
✅ YES: niksen. The Dutch concept is as simple as, well, doing nothing.
Doing nothing is actually very hard:
- Your brain is going at 100 miles an hour
- You think of all the things you have on your to-do list
- You just simply cannot relax.
💄Leadership Lessons for Summer Fridays:
- This is the time when you slowly start to slow down
- Go outside and walk for 30 minutes without checking your phone
What can happen when you are not available for thirty minutes? I would argue nothing; we are so addicted to being on all the time that we forget to take care of ourselves.
Happy Summer Friday – take today off and don’t feel guilty, feel FREE.
